Edge on the Canary Channel already allows you to use the PiP (Picture-in-Picture) mode and so you can activate it

Microsoft continues to work on improvements that will come with future versions of Edge and the first step is to release them on test channels. Canary, Dev or Beta, depending on greater or lesser urgency, are the previous developments before improvements and new features reach the final version
And now, those who use or try Edge within the Canary Channel, already have access to the Picture-in-Picture (PiP ) without having to leave the browser. A function that, for example, allows us to watch a movie in a small floating window on the screen where we have our work surface.A function that, however, must be activated and is what we are going to explain now.
This is how to activate PiP mode
First of all we must make sure that we have the latest version of Edge on the Canary Channel that is available. In this case is the one with the number 82.0.442. If you want to know which version of Edge you're using, you can check our tutorial.

Once inside we must enable Global Media Controls and Global Media Controls Picture in Pictureand to avoid having to search the huge list, we can use the search engine in the upper area."
