Yesterday we talked about the Your Phone application in relation to the new family of Samsung terminals, the Galaxy S20 range presented one week. The first phone to feature RSC messaging compatibility in the well-known Microsoft app. And today the pairing returns Samsung and Your Phone.

And now we are talking about the Your Phone application in relation to Samsung, because we have learned that thanks to a support document from Microsoft, Samsung phones have the ability to copy and paste between devices through the Your Phone app.

Samsung phones only

For some time now we have seen how Samsung and Microsoft strengthen their relationship with an agreement that allows them to take advantage of the potential of applications the American company in the phones of the Korean brand. We saw how OneDrive was integrated into the Gallery app or how Outlook offered support for Galaxy Watch. Therefore, it is not difficult to imagine further integration of Samsung phones.

And this is what this internal Microsoft document reveals in which they state that copying and pasting data affects both text and images , although in this case they have a size limit of 1 MB. In addition, for now the functionality is only available for the aforementioned Galaxy S20 and Galaxy S20+ along with the Galaxy Z Flip.

As they have in Windows Central, the function is deactivated by default and to be able to take advantage of it you just have to activate it and thus start copying and paste, a content that is stored temporarily on the clipboard, replacing the one that was already stored.

For now, the limitation to these models is based on the explanation offered by Robert Bojorquez, Group Program Manager at Microsoft, on Twitter, stating that the function is exclusive due to the specific hardware offered by these models Accessing a phone's clipboard requires special OEM integration, so Microsoft cannot enable the feature on every phone.
