Table of contents:
Yesterday we learned about Microsoft&39;s plans to start distributing the stable version of the new Chromium-based Edge from January 15. A date on which it would be convenient to refer to it as Edge without further ado, since the version used until now will be history, at least for those who make the leap to the update."
But until that day arrives, we will have to continue making use of one of the three available test channels. Whether it is the Canary, Beta or Developer channel, which is the one in question, they continue to offer updates. And in this case we are facing an important update that adds support for ARM64 and to enjoy image quality with Dolby Vision Edge reaches version 80.0.361.5 and It can now be downloaded from the browser page.

Known Issues
- Browsing in new tabs sometimes fails, either displaying an error that the connection is closed or locking the tab. In some cases, subsequent tab navigations are fine.
- After an initial fix recently, some users are still experiencing Edge windows turning black. UI popups such as menus are not affected, and opening the browser's Task Manager (keyboard shortcut is shift+esc) and killing the GPU process fixes it.
- Highlighting text in the address bar and then clicking on web pages sometimes results in black on dark text when the browser is in Dark Theme.
- Settings page appears too large or enlarged on some devices.
- Some users still don't see Collections enabled by default in Canary and Dev. For users who want to test Collections, enable the flag in edge://flags/ edge-collections should still work to trigger the feature.
- There are some issues where users with multiple audio output devices sometimes do not receive any sound from Edge. In one case, Edge is muted in Windows Volume Mixer and turning it on fixes it. In another, restarting the browser fixes it.
- At certain zoom levels, there is a noticeable line between the browser user interface and web content.
- Jumplist entries are not consistent between the Start menu and the taskbar for some users. We believe this is due to the Start menu shortcut not migrating correctly after an Edge update and we are working on a fix. Also, after getting the update for the new icon, there are still places in the Start menu, for example when searching, that still show the old icon. Other places, like the taskbar, can be fixed by unpinning and re-pinning existing Edge shortcuts.
Remember that you can download the new Edge at this link on any of the channels on the platforms on which it is available. If you already have it installed, just go to preferences within the browser and check if you have any pending updates.
