Microsoft releases a new Edge update on the Dev Channel that comes loaded with improvements and fixes for Windows and macOS

Yesterday we saw how Microsoft prepared an ARM64 version of the Chromium-based Edge browser in a move that does not however stop the release of updates within one of the three test channels that Edge currently has running: Canary, Deve and Beta.

In fact, just a few hours ago you can download the latest Edge update on the Dev Channel. An update that brings Edge Dev to version 80.0.328.4 , adding a lot of improvements and fixes that get more attention since we haven't seen an update coming to the Canary channel.

Improvements and fixes

Known Issues

• There are issues that cause users with multiple audio output devices to sometimes not receive any sound from Edge. In one case, Edge is muted in Windows Volume Mixer and turning it on fixes it. In another, restarting the browser fixes it.
• At certain zoom levels, there is a noticeable line between the browser user interface and web content.

• Favorites that are set to display only the icon can revert to displaying the icon and text if favorites sync is enabled.
• Clicking a link on a virtual desktop currently opens a new tab in a window on a different virtual desktop if no window is open on the current desktop but another is open.

• Minimized windows are sometimes not restored correctly if the browser restores the previous session due to a refresh, crash, etc. As a workaround, make sure windows are not minimized before restarting the browser.
• Sometimes The browser does not appear to respond to any user input The cause of this is due to an error in the build process. the GPU, and opening the browser task manager (right click near the window minimize/maximize/close buttons or press shift+esc on the keyboard) will open a window allowing you to finish the GPU process, which will fix the problem.
