Table of contents:
One of the possibilities offered by Windows is to customize our computers in different aspects. We saw how to change the wallpapers, the team theme and now we are going to see how to customize the appearance of your folders in Windows 10.
Windows 10 allows us to modify the default image of the folders in Windows 10 or, using a third-party application, change the color of the folders. We can modify the folders so that it is easier for us to locate them at a certain moment thanks to the appearance they offer, something similar to what we can do in macOS.
Steps to follow to change the color
If a simple modification is enough for us, perhaps we will have enough to modify the color of the folder in Windows 10. It will keep the folder icon but change the color .
In this case we are going to use a third-party application such as Folder Painter. It is free and allows you to modify the color of the folders and their icons on our computer.
To do this, run Folder Painter once downloaded, press the button to enable the option to add color inside the folder. Simply click with the right button on the folder to be customized and choose the color that you want to give to that folder, return to the default Windows 10 icon or launch the tool itself.
Changing the icon
"The first step is to access File Explorer and search for the folder we want to modify. Then click on it with the right mouse button and thus access its properties."
"A new window will open in which we will look at one of the tabs in the upper zone under the title Customize. "
We see a section called Folder icons and in it a button with the title Change iconon which we must click."
"When clicking on it we see a window with all the icons available in Windows 10. If we don&39;t have enough of these, we can use the Browse button to locate any others that we have downloaded to our computer."
Once marked, just click OK>Folder Properties to apply the selected icon to the folder we want to customize."
