Edge continues to receive improvements and fixes in the Dev channel with the latest update released by Microsoft
Microsoft continues to release new updates that enhance one of its flagship releases for 2019. The new Chromium-based Edge has brought a breath of fresh air to the world of browsers and although it is still in development, the impressions it leaves are more than good.
This new update comes with two goals. On the one hand, something already typical, such as the contribution to the improvement of the operation and the correction of errors Along with these improvements there are also some new features to give more packaging to update.
This update has the version number 77.0.223.0 and although it has been announced, it is not yet available. In fact, I just ran the test and the version of Edge Dev I have on my machine is 77.0.211.3, so it may still take a few hours to arrive.
This is the list of changes we will see:
- Fixed an issue that prevented Hulu from playing on some users' computers if an unsupported second monitor was connected.
- User interface now uses Windows system settings and colors for high contrast.
- When importing your data from other browsers in the profile settings they have added another option to import cookies.
- Website permissions, such as location and device access, are now migrated from the current version of Microsoft Edge when you install an internal channel.
- When Microsoft Defender SmartScreen identifies a malicious site, protection is improved by adding new options to “Report as safe” and “Show unsafe content” when opening the site information dropdown menu from the left side of the address box.
- SmartScreen protection is now built into macOS.
- SmartScreen extension has been disabled on macOS
- The option to disable SmartScreen is no longer available in guest mode.
- Increased the width of pinned tabs to make them easier to see and click.
- Restored the ability to export passwords to a CSV file.
- Updated error messages seen when PDF reader is disabled in site permissions.
- On the download page, canceled downloads are now grayed out with the title crossed out.
- You can now use the spacebar to select items in menus, in addition to the Enter key.
- When opening a menu using the keyboard, the first menu item is now selected by default.
Remember that you can download the new Edge at this link on any of the channels on the platforms on which it is available. If you already have it installed, just go to preferences within the browser and check if you have any pending updates.
