Microsoft launches the Collections feature in Edge within the Canary channel and so you can activate them
Table of contents:
We are talking about Microsoft Edge again and we do so in reference to an important update that it just received. Within the Canary channel Microsoft has decided to enable the Collections function, an improvement that will allow us to add content that interests us to access at any time. "
The function is not activated by default and for it to be functional we are going to have to take a small step and activate it ourselves In this articles we are going to see how to do it and on the way how this new and interesting improvement that comes for both Windows and macOS works.
Activate collections
"To activate Collections we are going to make use of the flags function by typing in the browser bar edge://flags To find what what we are looking for and not having to browse through the available options, the most interesting thing is to use the search engine in the upper right area. We write Collections and the option that we are going to activate will appear."
"We will see that the default option > appears, change the box to place it in Activated (Enabled). We only have to restart the browser and start testing the new function."
We will see that it is activated because a small symbol appears next to our profile picture. We can press it to create a collection or several collections to which we will give the names we want.
And what can we add? Well, we can add from a complete web page, a part, an article... and for this we only have to drag what we want to the column that has been opened in the right area of the screen. Easy right?
We can add complete web pages, but also text notes if we click on the post-it icon that we have in the upper area right. This will be stored as one more section within the Collection."
All content can be easily modified within the column by using drag to move it or simply delete it if we are already told it is necessary. We can also share it, thanks to the arrow icon, also in the upper right area. In this way we can send it to Excel, where a table will be created with the content sent.
Collections is a cool feature. It's as if the bookmarks had been revamped and now offer more options. If you use Edge on the Canary channel, you just have to update to the latest version to be able to try this new feature.
