The new Chromium-based Edge is frequently updated on the Canary Channel: so you can know which version you're using
The new Chromium-based Edge has been with us for a few weeks now and it is leaving a pleasant taste in the mouth Whether in theCanary channel or within the Dev channel For less daring users, updates with improvements are frequent and constant, also providing new functions.
But there are some users who may not know how to get the latest version of Edge updated. A simple process that hides no secrets, but that we are going to detail in this tutorial so that there are no doubts about it: this way you can know what version of Edge you are using and this way you can update it to the latest one.
Whether you use Windows 10, Windows 7, 8, 8.1 or macOS, you can download the new Edge from this link. But if you downloaded it a long time ago and haven't used it again, you won't have the most recent version released.
"To check which version you&39;re using the first step is to go to the Edge hamburger menu (the three dots on the top right) and Go down the options column until we find Help and Feedback."
"Click on that option to access a new menu window in which we will scroll to the end in the option titled About Microsoft Edge . In it we will see which version we are using at that moment."
If it is the most recent version, the system will indicate it and there will be no changes. But if it is already old, will start the update process automatically. A necessary update if we want to access the latest news and improvements.
"The process is quick and its duration may vary depending on our network connection. To conclude it, we only have to click on the button Restart>"
The process to follow is the same, whether we use Edge on the Canary channel (this is the example I used) as in channel Dev In the case of using macOS, there are some changes, although minimal. Instead of the hamburger menu, we go to Settings in the upper left, inside Edge and look for About Microsoft Edge "
"The process is repeated as in Windows, only here, it will be a small window, on the right, which will indicate if there is an update and in which we will have to click on Update now."
