Not your computer: YouTube is experiencing issues on the new Chromium-based Edge
Table of contents:
The new Chromium-based Edge is already a reality that we can test on both Windows 10 and macOS and interchangeably in the Canary channel and in the Dev channel. Versions still under development that it is not surprising that they can present failures like this one that concerns us now.
And it seems that those users who access YouTube from the new Microsoft browser have come across a surprise. In some cases, when accessing the web, the interface adopted by YouTube offers the classic design and not the most current.
We have already seen how Edge, based on Chromium, presented problems with Google Docs and now it is YouTube, another of Google's tools, which is causing some headaches. The new YouTube design is not available in the renewed Edge
In my case, I just tried it with Edge Canary in the version for macOS which is the one I have on hand and although I don't get any error message, how are some users experiencing it, yes I find myself with the old interface Use to compare the same experiment carried out in Firefox in the Nightly version and in Edge.
Apparently, and although the platform admits that they only support Chrome, Firefox, Safari, and Edge in the classic version, they did have the new design in the most recent version, so we are dealing with a fault that is being generated in the last few hours.
"In addition, some users are getting this error message: Your browser is not supported. Try it with the latest Google Chrome."
YouTube Music is also affected
And along with YouTube in general, YouTube Music is also being affected. When trying to access the platform, the message appears inviting us to use it in Chrome since is not optimized for our browser, in this case Edge.
"At this point in the film, there is still no statement from Microsoft or Google that clarifies what may be the causes of the problem, although it is to be expected to be resolved in the next few hours."
