Microsoft wants to improve security in macOS and launches Microsoft Defender ATP
Table of contents:
At the end of March we saw how Microsoft Defender was preparing to make an appearance in the macOS ecosystem. This is surprising news, especially for Mac users, who have always prided themselves on the security of their platform.
"At that time, Microsoft Defender arrived but with limitations, since initially it would only be operational within professional environments, something logical because these are the market niches in which a threat is more likely to cause big problems. And after passing through this kind of beta version, now is the time for Defender to reach the general public."
An open beta
Microsoft Defender ATP for Mac throughout these weeks has debugged all the bugs and errors that it could contain thanks to the _feedback_ generated. In this sense, from Microsoft they announce the following improvements with respect to the version that had been launched at the business level.
- Accessibility has been improved
- Performance improvements
- Added improvements in customer product status monitoring
- Support to work in up to 37 languages.
- Enhanced anti-tampering protections.
- Comments and samples can now be submitted through the interface.
- Product status can be queried with JAMF or the command line.
- Admins can set their cloud preference for any location
Although it reaches all users, this version of Microsoft Defender ATP continues to undergo improvements and to achieve this they recommend users that they continue commenting and generating opinions about the operation of the application.
