Microsoft continues to improve its tools and now it's the turn of Outlook, the application to manage email from Microsoft to which can be accessed either through the application or if we prefer, through the web version offered by Outlook.com.
If yesterday we saw how Microsoft was preparing to improve Outlook on the web with support for AMP HTML, now we know of a series of improvements that will come to the email and calendar application in Outlook on the web.Enhancements based on machine learning and smart new features
These are functions aimed at optimizing the use we make of our mail, integrating functions that help to carry out tasks in less time and with fewer steps during the process. These are four features that Microsoft has detailed on the Outlook blog.
- Meeting preparation: Through this improvement, Outlook will ensure that the user has a meeting scheduled in the agenda offering all information that may be helpful. Once the meeting is over, Outlook will also offer the possibility of finding any type of interesting information related to other meetings that have already ended, information that may contain all types of data that we have had access to through emails, public files in SharePoint or OneDrive… "
- Suggested answer with a meeting: Another _machine learning_ based feature that relies on detecting and learning when Outlook detects for a conversation that several people intend to meet. In this case, it will offer the option to Schedule a meeting with a form to fill in the information related to the meeting."
- Smart Time Suggestions: If a meeting is to be scheduled, Outlook will take care of determining the best time, suggesting days and times in that attendees can meet freely.
- Suggested locations: Similar to the previous one, when marking a meeting, Outlook. will offer possible places to meet by way of suggestion. Information that can provide details regarding address, business hours, and contact information.
These smart new features will be rolled outso that Outlook users will be able to access them throughout over the next few weeks.
