Microsoft will integrate Autodesk AutoCAD with OneDrive and SharePoint to facilitate work in professional environments

Microsoft continues to work on improving its services by integrating utilities and applications. We have already seen examples like the one that allowed and now it is time to do it from Autodesk AutoCAD. For those unfamiliar, Autodesk AutoCAD is a design-focused application that hit the market in 1982. It is used by professionals in fields such as engineering, transportation, or construction to create plan drawings, product designs, maps…

All those professionals who use AutoCAD will benefit from the integration of the powerful application with a cloud storage service such as OneDriveand with another utility such as SharePoint, the business collaboration utility used for shared workspaces, information stores, or documents.

AutoCAD integration with OneDrive and SharePoint follows the release of AutoCAD 2020, the latest version of auto design and drafting software the company used. A version that receives in the update, together with the already classic performance improvements of the platform, the integration with other applications.

In the cloud with One Drive and Box

Storage in the cloud is a matter of two, since AutoCAD 2020 is compatible with OneDrive but also with another competing platform such as BoxThis way the user can open and edit DWG files in the AutoCAD desktop app or mobile app and access their entire library of projects stored on Microsoft OneDrive and Box without having to use local storage.

On both Box and OneDrive, users can access and comment on all projects stored in the cloud with other members team or with clients, who will also be able to see the shared files.

Of the rest of the improvements we must highlight a renewed interface with an updated dark theme, a new block palette or a new tool rapid measurement, improvements that come together with an optimization of the operation that allows, for example, an optimization of the saving procedure.

The arrival of these improvements will be progressive. Thus, the integration for OneDrive customers is scheduled to arrive in the last days of March, while support for SharePoint will be released in the coming weeks.
