Skype is one of the applications that is ending the year with more force within the Microsoft catalog. And it is that practically there is no week in which for one reason or another it is not news, almost always good. And so as not to lose the habit, this week will also have its share of prominence.
The reason is that the old application, now updated, will receive an update that will focus on improving accessibility to be more inclusivewith those people who have some type of disability. It is about removing barriers and achieving a more accessible application and follows in the wake of a policy that in this sense has more than interesting bets such as the Xbox Adaptive Controller.
In this sense, Microsoft has announced new functions that will come to Skype looking for the one that all users can access in equal conditions to the largest number of possible functions. An announcement that coincided in time with the celebration of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities.
In the statement that we can read on the Skype blog, the American company announces that among the news will be Skype support to access live sub titles and simultaneous translation in more than 20 languages With this addition, the barrier that, for example, people with some type of hearing impairment could encounter is broken down.
Although right now sub titles can already be enabled in calls, this update will make these sub titles interactive, that is, they will not only be able to be read, but we will be able to navigate by the same looking for the fragment of a conversation that we have missed. This improvement can be enabled for all conversations (and thus forget us forever) or for specific moments and chats.
In addition, Skype will also be updated with the possibility of real-time translation, so that even if we are talking to a person in another language, the sub titled conversation we see on the screen will appear in our language. A function that will have support for more than 20 languages and will be fully customizable.
Microsoft is committed to integration, to break barriers in a period of time in which communication by electronic means is the source for be able to interconnect with many people.
