This is how Google wants to convince us of the transparency in the use of our data: premiering a method to manage them
Surely you've heard the expression that says that when a product is free, the product itself is you. And in this maxim Google has a lot to do with it. A company that knows our digital life (and perhaps also our personal one) in some scary parameters and that has always been in the spotlight due to the large amount of personal data it stores and the use it makes makes the same
The Mountain View company wants to put an end to that image and the best way to do it that they have found is to make it easier for the user to know the use made of the data they collect from each one of us .We can know them and now we can also eliminate them in a simpler way
"From the My Google Account section, apart from finding out what data they have stored about us, we can also manage them in a more efficient and accessible way, at least those related to our searches with Google."
Now we can delete our data from the browser itself and also access the most important privacy controls of our account and do so only with two mouse clicks. This enhancement is available if you use the web version on both desktop and mobile.
"Now instead of having to manually access our search data, just enter Google and click on the link that appears below in blue with the legend Control your data in Google Search. "
Within it we will see the section “Your search activity” and within it all our activity, being able to then choose between ending the most recent data in “Delete activity from the last hour” or if we prefer to end everything by pressing “Delete all the search activity”
The new function is available from now on for all users and although for now it is limited to Google and its search engine in the web version , from the company they assure that in the coming weeks it will reach the Google application on iOS and Android and that little by little it will reach the rest of the utilities that they have in their portfolio.
