Microsoft wants to revitalize Cortana and the first step is a refresh of the interface in the Insider Program

The landscape of virtual assistants is more competitive than ever. Alexa, hand in hand with Amazon, is the one that dominates the markets in which it is present, Google Assistant is increasingly offering more competition by being present in more devices and Apple's Siri has a very solid ecosystem. But where does Cortana fit in this equation?

That Cortana is suffering to conquer users is not a secret. An example is given by the scarcity of devices in which it is included beyond the Windows 10 computers themselves.In fact, Microsoft has established an agreement with Amazon to exchange the roles of their respective assistants. A pact with the devil that may or may not work out. What is clear is that Cortana needs a boost and from Redmond it seems that they are beginning to assume it

Refreshing the look

The first step is to offer a new look to Microsoft's blue assistant The American company has presented a new design with which it tries to improve the Cortana interface, some improvements that are first reaching the US territory and then making it to other markets.

The users of the Insider Program are the first to be able to access this new Cortana interface in which a renewed design that seeks to make using Cortana more attractive. For this, the option that allows adding shortcuts to some applications installed on the computer has been added.This is the case of Applications, Settings, Documents, Photos or Internet.

By the way the integration of the assistant with some of the applications and system functionalities has been improved. The search process has also been improved through the use of filters such as applications, email, documents or photos when we perform a search.
