Twitter updates its Progressive Web App with Timeline support and other important improvements

Twitter was one of the first applications that dared and made the leap to the PWA typology, an acronym for Progressive Web Applications. A model that we already saw at the time and that stands out for providing a large number of improvements and solutions compared to the traditional applications that we have been using up to now.

Twitter has opted for PWA's and one more example is given by the support that its application now offers for Timeline. They have one thing in common. With the latest update, now when we access Twitter or Moments, our navigation will be added to the Windows Timeline function, thus enriching the content it offers.It is the most graphic novelty but not the only one.

For example, if we now open a twitter.com link through and we do it using Microsoft Edge, the browser will automatically start the application. The link will automatically open in the Twitter PWA.

An update in which the user experience has been improved with improvements such as the one that makes it easier to view profiles Just leave the Mouse over a user's profile image to open a window with information about the user.

It also facilitates the publication of content, because now we can upload videos of up to 15 MB, which can also be previewed before that they be published. In the case of the images that we publish, the application now allows adding a descriptive text that offers information about said image.

News are completed with the improvement of private _tweets, which are now sent automatically when selecting the recipient. This is the list of improvements that we are going to see:

• Windows improvements: Links to twitter.com opened from Edge will now open in the PWA.
• When viewing events or moments, an entry will be added to the Windows Timeline Timeline.
• General Improvements: Improved content and descriptions for screen readers
• Uploaded videos reach 15 MB.
• Search and search results have been improved, now highlighting the matching query for each result.
• Uploading of images has been improved by allowing the addition of explanatory text.

Remember that if you use the PWA version of Twitter you don't have to download any updates from the Windows StoreJust close the app and reopen it for the changes to appear. It is one of the advantages, if not the most, of PWA applications.
