Office 2016 receives a new Build loaded with improvements that members of the Insider program can already try
Office is together with Windows and with the permission of some other application, the iconic Microsoft seal that makes many know the Redmond company just by seeing the logo and hearing its name. A popularity that doesn't stop growing and even though the alternatives make things more difficult every time
Even from Microsoft itself they have launched an alternative such as Office 365, an ideal option for those who love the cloud. Happily for the rest, the classic version of Office will continue to have prominence with the arrival of Office 2019.And while it arrives we are left with the latest Build that comes from Office in its 2016 version.
This is the Build 10813.20004 for Office 2016 that arrives for members of the Insider Program. A Build for computers that have Windows as an operating system and that comes loaded with new functions and improvements that we will now review.
- Links to One Drive and SharePoint Online documents can now also open in the browser. You only have to adjust the preferences to change the option set by default. "
- Word, Excel and PowerPoint files can be renamed if they are stored on One Drive or SharePoint. It is the new function Rename and is accessed by _clicking_ on the application title bar."
- Now You can delete the recently used Word, Excel and PowerPoint files and to do so you just have to enable this function by _clicking_ with Right click on the file name.
These are the most important improvements and along with them will come the known bug fixes and other minor improvements:
- Fixed an issue with saving to the cloud when Design Mode was enabled by default.
- In Excel Fixed the visibility of the macro recording icon in the status bar.
- Fixed a bug that caused Excel to crash when closing a workbook after changing SmartArt Quick styles via the context menu.
- In PowerPoint Fixed an issue that could cause a system sound when opening certain files.
- Fixed rendering issue with themes also in PowerPoint.
- In Outlook Fixed an issue where replying to encrypted emails did not work.
- In Access Fixed an issue where STSLIST.dll crashed Internet Explorer due to buffer overrun in printf of the Version Information.
- In Project we have been working to release various performance and stability fixes.
- For all apps, worked to fix an issue where the Save button was disabled when saving an open document from an email attachment.
If you are a member of the Office Insider Program, you can now download and test the update and all its new features. To do this, you only have to go to the route File > Account > Update options > Update now."
