Progressive Web Applications or PWA's are being one of the silent revolutions that we are experiencing in recent months. We have already seen some of the advantages it offered, which are certainly many compared to the traditional applications that we have been using. They require less work to update, are cheaper to maintain, and offer very similar functionality to the web app.
At Microsoft they are little by little taking over the ground that in principle was destined to be occupied by Universal Applications (UWP).They have seen how their presence loses steam due to the push of the PWA's among which one stands out right now: the official Twitter client, which now receives a new update full of news.
Night mode arrives at Twitter PWA
The Twitter client has been updated for both mobile devices and Windows 10 on PCs and tablets. They have announced it through, of course, their Twitter account. An update that adds a series of interesting improvements to the application.
First of all, and because it is the most visual, now the Twitter client has a night mode, the same as for a long time time we can find in the web version. Ideal for use on screens when we don't want to suffer from glare in the traditional way and above all to avoid discomfort, especially at night.
"To activate it, you can access it by _clicking_ on our profile picture and activating Night Mode. If you use Dark Mode on your Windows 10 computer, Twitter&39;s night mode will be enabled by default. "
In addition the behavior of Tweet Compose has been improved, now being easier to move between the _tweets_ of our account and the _timeline_. On the other hand, with this _update_ they have added real-time updates when counting Retweets, Likes and Replies as well as different improvements that improve the general performance of the application.
If you are already using the Twitter PWA, you just have to restart it to have the new version. If you are not using it, you can download it from the Microsoft Store link)
