Even if we feel like it
Table of contents:
Today it is increasingly common to use the large number of devices that surround us to play multimedia content and for this, many of them are connected to a television, either by cable or wirelessly to do _streaming_ . A custom that requires using a program that performs the tasks of player and content manager
Thus we find a great variety of options and among all of them Kodi stands out, an application that surely many of you use well to play content in local or content available on the network. It is an _open source_ multiplatform application compatible with practically any format and highly customizable thanks to the use of skins.A platform that is getting closer to reaching Xbox One.
And given the character of the Redmond console's home multimedia center, it is strange that it still does not have an application like Kodiwith which to control all the content (movies, series, music...) that we want to play from our console. And that some time ago they announced that they were working on an application for the Microsoft console.
However time passes and the wait is endless, since the application that should arrive in the form of UWP for Windows 10 and Xbox One does not yet have a date set. And when asked by users about the delay, they had no choice but to respond from the application development team:
Kodi on Xbox One will have to wait
Apparently the delay in Kodi's arrival on the platform is due to the problems they are encountering in order to convert their application to a UWPbecause it involves moving to a 64-bit application. For now, this leaves Windows 10 without a highly interesting option that we can find in Mac OS, Android or Linux.
For now Kodi is available on Windows but only in the form of a 32-bit application known as “Krypton”, either by downloading it from the Kodi website or from the Windows App Store. While we have nothing left to do but wait.
