Groove Music is updated with numerous changes
There may be users who are unaware of what Groove Music is, an application that came new in Windows 10 and that will allow us to play our music collection and create and listen to playlists, as well as add our MP3 files to OneDrive and thus play our songs on other devices. In turn, Groove Music allows us through the Groove Music Pass subscription, to _stream_ and download music from one of the most important music catalogues.
This is an application in which Microsoft has high hopes and that is demonstrated by the fact that they have just publicly updated their app just a week after the Insider program users were the ones to enjoy the news that this _update_ incorporates.
In this sense, the first thing we will see is that now the boot is faster, since an Xbox Live account is no longer necessary to use Groove Music and we will notice how Continuum is getting closer, as Groove adds many improvements for its use with this functionality.
These are all the new features that we can find in Groove Music, which now reaches version 3.6.1886.0:
-
"
- The application will skip unplayable songs during Now Playing and display them in grey."
- The app will prevent the playback of unplayable content.
- An Xbox Live account is no longer required to use Groove, which improves load times.
- Improves on-screen information about synchronization in progress.
- We will see less of the famous ?Unknown Artist? because the app will use the metadata of both the songs and the albums to avoid it.
- Process improvement used to display metadata, now faster and more accurate.
- Groove Music Pass subscribers will see music search results by default.
- When viewing the artists, we can choose whether to view their tracks by songs or by albums.
- Radio stations can be started from albums and songs, which will start an artist-based radio.
- We can see the size of our collection at the top.
- On Windows 10 Mobile, the skin will fill the screen and appear below the system icons at the top.
- We can filter the collection by source (OneDrive, Pass, Purchased and on this device).
- We can restart the application if there are problems synchronizing with the cloud.
- We can filter the songs to play by year of publication.
- Improvements for use with Continuum, as well as a setting for the lock screen.
If you have not received the update, it is a matter of very little time that you will have to wait until you receive the warning notification. And once you download it and try it, tell us about your experience, if you think that the improvements applied make it an alternative as powerful as they can be Google Music or Apple Music
