With Windows 8.1 Microsoft has completely redesigned the Windows Store, improving many of its sections and making navigation easier. But discovering new applications is still more complicated than one would like. That is why we appreciate the existence of applications such as AppFlow App Discovery to navigate through the more than 100 thousand applications available.

The name of AppFlow from Windows Phone or iOS will already sound familiar to many. Its creators, Distinction, have been helping users of both platforms find the best apps for a long time. Now they intend to do the same in Windows 8 with AppFlow App Discovery, an application that helps us discover new applications in a very visually attractive way

The front page includes a search box and a selection of applications whose themes change daily. The search works really well, returning not only applications but also lists made by the developers themselves. These lists are one of AppFlow's biggest attractions, as they are well curated and make it extremely easy to discover applications that otherwise go unnoticed.

The different sections of the application appear in the upper margin. These include a section on news related to Microsoft and Windows with some media selected by the developers. The rest of the sections make good use of the lists to help us find the best applications in the Windows Store, highlighting the Windows Store Highlights section, where we can find the best designed applications, those best adapted to touch screens or new apps that deserve our attention.

During the time I've been using Windows 8 I've tried all kinds of services and websites that were intended to serve as a meeting point and application discovery. In the absence of Microsoft launching a Windows Store website to facilitate this task, AppFlow has become the best option when looking for applications in the Windows storeIts only drawback is that it is not yet available in Spanish.
