There are times when our mind, our thoughts, become the greatest barrier to rest, meditation or relaxation.

Consciousness is held hostage to the incessant background noise inside our brain, and we need external help to break the stress and ascend to a state of tranquility.

The power of sound over moods

A few days ago I found this little application, Naturaspace, which uses a very simple and powerful principle of human psychology: the capacity of certain sounds to produce moods in our consciousness and unconsciousness, relaxing and calming us down.

Few things can get us to a sweet dream than the constant murmur of a stream crossing a leafy forest; the distant roar of the waves of the sea as they break on the sands; or the wind rushing across a wheat field.

Even the roar of thunder from a storm and the rumble of a waterfall can be used to bring our mind into a relaxed alertness perfect for the early stages of meditation.

Sound library on demand

When starting the application, the first thing I see is a menu of themes, exactly 10, that cover Sunrises, Storms, Rains, Sunsets, Rivers, Waves or Winds.

Within each theme I have a sliding menu that offers me the specific tunes and that indicate what I am going to perceive in my ears. For example, in winds I have: Midnight, Icy Wind, Cathedral (within a roof of trees) and Great Snowfall .

Launching any of them - I recommend that this application be used with good headphones - we find ourselves listening to a soundtrack full of details that never seems to repeat itself and that will transport us to a different state of mind .

Offering an excellent quality of the mixes, both in the quality of the audio itself - in its definition, detail and number of sound objects - as in topics; many and very well chosen.

In the trial version I used, most of the theme libraries are in ">" mode

However, the few that come complete for your use and enjoyment are enough to take advantage of its relaxing effects; especially one called ">

"And with which, I can assure you, I&39;ve taken a few naps, as it&39;s magical for falling asleep."
