Since it's New Year's Eve, what better than having a useful application on hand for our dinners or for whatever comes after. Many will already know Cocktail Flow for its versions for Windows Phone or Android, but today it's time to talk about the Windows 8 version. In the Cocktail Flow desktop system, it preserves everything good of its careful aesthetics together with a database sufficient to raise the spirit of the bravest. The application, installed on our brand new Windows 8, will serve as the perfect cocktail recipe book.

When it comes to serving its purpose, Cocktail Flow does not complicate itself with unnecessary detours.From the cover of the application we can select different ways to navigate through the cocktails: according to the main ingredient, by color or by the type of combination that we want to prepare. Once we have selected what we are looking for, the list of preparations is presented to us in a horizontal carousel with photos where they look really appetizing. The images used are a good example of how careful the visual aspect is despite being a relatively simple application.

Each cocktail has its corresponding tab with the necessary ingredients, a photo with its final appearance and step-by-step preparation instructions . Although they are in English, they can be easily followed as they are simple steps that include a small visual representation. It also includes a list of similar cocktails to comfortably navigate through the different recipes contained in the application.

Since not all of us have the full bar with all the ingredients on hand for any of the different cocktails, the app allows us to save our beverage inventoryand other ingredients. In this way we can always keep track of what we have and what cocktails we can prepare with it.

To help us prepare the different cocktails, the application includes a series of guides. Although they are scarce in content, we have brief explanations on how to prepare them, the necessary instruments or their presentation.

To sum it up, Cocktail Flow is a simple app but it's a good example of what you'd expect to find in the Windows Store: It works well, it has a careful visual aspect and fulfills its objective without beating around the bush.Its only drawback is that it is completely in English, although the steps are explained in a brief and simple way, so the language should not dissuade you from installing it on your Windows 8. Especially if you have a tablet and a bar full of drinks with which to impress your guests.
