This should be the most useful Windows8 application for those who are in love – and not so in love – with their work and spend long days in the office rowing to do more and better work. Or those couples, loners or groups of friends who get together to enjoy a good dinner or lunch together.
Food2u, is an application that makes our lives easier by allowing us to access all the restaurants that offer food delivery close to our position location, access the menus and purchase everything that seems appetizing.
Food2u, a ModernUI app
On the Food2u “Click & Eat” website we can now locate the closest restaurants to our position, review each of the dishes that make up the menu and place the order, paying in cash or by VISA or PayPal.
But the interesting thing comes in the app for Windows8 that we can download from the Store and that uses all the power and ease of use of ModernUIThus, placing myself in the 28012 postal code, in Madrid, I see a long list of suppliers grouped by origin or style of cuisine: Indian, Spanish, Latin, Paellas, Pizzeria or Vegetarian, among many others.
Each of the groups offers me the logo of each restaurant, letting me know which ones are open and which ones are not, and by clicking on one of the icons, I can access its information.The name, your address, the opening hours on each day of the week, the price of serving at home, the average waiting time and the minimum invoice for orders, indicating in red or green if my order meets the minimum amount .
The menu is displayed, in many cases, as photographs of the products – in many restaurants they have not yet uploaded images and a gray square is displayed -. If I click on the photograph of the dish that has caught my attention, I visualize a description of it to get an idea of what I am going to put in my mouth. And to add it to the cart, it's as simple as dragging the image to the top so that I can see the order and the total price to pay.
By clicking with the right mouse button on an empty area of the screen, I have the lower menu to continue with the purchase and to be able to give my opinion or comments about the restaurant and its products.
Then I am presented with a form that I must fill out to indicate where the food should be sent to (here the configuration data would need to be imported) and I accept the order that is confirmed by past emails a few minutes.

Is the restaurant data a public feed or do you have your own database? We have our own database, which We expand day by day negotiating with restaurants, but we have a public API in case someone wants to use it for their own developments, we have it published here.
Where do you get the images of the dishes? The images of the dishes can be generic (image bank) or if a restaurant has its own, you can use them.
Have you thought about putting up a payment gateway? Yes, in Windows 8 you can already pay by card. On the web (food2u.es) you can already pay with Paypal, and we are in negotiations with Paypal to integrate it with our platforms (apps).
In how many cities does it work? Are you going to add more cities? We work in these cities, and you can see it in a more visual way here. Every day we increase our restaurants, we have commercials that work for it and the objective is to cover the maximum of the Spanish territory.
With this application we are in luck in the Store because it is a sample of the new applications of greater complexity and quality that are beginning to arriveAnd it is also the result of a job well done with an exquisite customer service that, when I placed the false order, it did not take more than three minutes for me to receive an email letting me know that the data entered was not correct.
