Microsoft shows what we can expect from 'in-app' advertising in Windows 8
Last week, between October 1 and 5, Advertising Week 2012 took place in New York. In it Microsoft not only took the opportunity to present part of its campaign for the release of Windows 8, it also showed examples of how they can be the ads inside 'Modern UI' apps for your new operating system.
The 'in-app' will be one of the options that developers will have to monetize their applications in the Windows Store. This is another of the radical changes that we will see on our screens starting with Windows 8, that's why Microsoft has partnered with five agencies to show some proposals and ideas on how to display ads within different applications. In the video that you have below these lines you can take a look at some of the concepts they have prepared.
As you can see, developers and advertisers have great freedom to display their content Among others, the option to place the as a 'tile' more of the application, so that the entire ad, whether through video, animation or whatever, will only be shown when the user chooses it. In addition, it can become more interactive and contribute to the 'Modern UI' experience so that, for example, it can vary as we move through the application by scrolling horizontally.
Other options include the classic horizontal and vertical banners that can be added and integrated into the context of the application, merging with the design of the same or adapting to the content and varying with it. Of course, advertisers have the freedom to choose those applications in which they want to appear, seeking greater consistency when their ads are displayed and being more useful to users.
The within applications is one more of the great changes that we can find in Windows 8. Basically represents a complete reversal with respect to our way of dealing with the computer on desktop, where this type of was reserved for web pages. Now developers and creators have one more way to get their work done. It remains to be seen how respectful or intrusive the ads are and how this will affect our experience as users.
