WhatsApp for Windows Phone 8.1 is generating error messages in users. Is it just a one-time failure?
We already know that Windows Phone 8 passed away by Microsoft's decision. A cessation of support that surely neither users nor developers have liked, who have seen suddenly, if there was already little interest in the platform, now this may even be less
Why focus your efforts on a version with no future with little future? That is what they may have thought, for example, in WhatsApp , whose users under Windows Phone 8.1 have also spent some hours experiencing difficulties using the popular instant messaging service.
These failures, which at another time would not have much importance, do attract attention in the case of WhatsApp. In other circumstances nothing would happen because the frequent updates of the applications are aimed at correcting these failures but what if the application in question is no longer updated?
That's what happens with WhatsApp, both in the stable version (2.17.214) and in the Beta version (2.17.256) and in both cases far from those that can be downloaded and used in Windows 10 Mobile. In fact and as quoted in WBI, some Windows Phone 8.1 users are receiving this error message:
And the matter looks bad, since both applications, stable and beta for Windows Phone 8.1 have not received any update for more than a month no matter how small. This lack of support may be due to the fact that the company prefers to focus (and it is logical) on what they have for Windows 10, but this means leaving out a large number of users who cannot simply make the leap to Windows 10 Mobile because their mobile phones are not supported.
Remember that WhatsApp is only functional on Windows Phone 8.1 and Windows 10 Mobile These will be the two versions that allow you to download and install WhatsApp from the Windows Store starting December 31 of this year. As of the first day of 2018, you will no longer be able to use it on devices running Windows Phone 8.
Are you a Windows Phone 8.1 user? Have you had problems with WhatsApp in the last hours?_ You can leave us your impressions in the comments.
