You can now play Pokémon GO on your Windows 10 Mobile phone. With a third-party client
Table of contents:
Yes, you read that right, after the burst of success that the Pokémon GO game has been experiencing and barely a month after its release, users with smartphones equipped with Windows 10 Mobile were still unable to enjoy the app. An impossibility that Niantic has tried to alleviate thanks to a petition that more than 100,000 people have ended up signing but that has not yet borne fruit.
However, and as has happened on other occasions, a third-party client has appeared to give fans a hand. This is PoGo uwp, an application available in beta phase that already brings most of the features of the popular game to the aforementioned platform.
PoGo for Windows 10 Mobile
In this way and in the absence of an agreement, an external developer has given birth to this long-awaited tool that acts as a client between the Android version of the application and that brings its features to Windows 10. Players are connected the same world as other mobile operating systems and can complete most tasks
In any case, most of the features are available, something that will continue to improve over time, especially since it is about an open source utility, which means that anyone can help improve it. Some of the benefits that, however, are thrown away are:.
- Animations and UI design need improvement
- Some errors have been detected that need to be fixed
- Need to add access support from Google
- The code needs to be improved
- Need to add egg support
- Need to add Pokédex and inventory management
- Need to add support for gyms
To download it you will not find it in the Windows store, but you will have to go to GitHub, where you will have to carry out a series of steps to be able to test it. If you find it difficult, you can always refer to this tutorial.
