One of the positive consequences of Google's refusal to release an official YouTube client for Windows Phone is that it has opened up the space to which independent developers can create alternative clients that are even better than a regular official app.

One such alternative client is Tubecast, which along with offering full player functionality (including downloading videos, or under the lock screen) also stands out for allowing to stream videos to other devices in the home, such as Smart TVs, Chromecast, Xbox One or AirPlay, through the network Wifi.

Precisely in this area, streaming to other equipment, we have that Tubecast has received important news, thanks to a recent update that allows you to view and transmit videos up to 1440p resolution (QHD) at 60 frames per second via DLNA. This can be achieved both with videos that are played on demand and with those that we have downloaded to the computer to view offline.

"

Of course, using this resolution to play content on the same phone does not make much sense, since Windows Phones with higher resolution offer only 1080p on their screen (Lumia 930, 1520, and HTC One M8 ). But even so, this update also benefits those users, since it also adds support for 1080p videos, which until now did not exist."

Other innovations in this new version include support for streaming content to Thomson televisions or Android TV. The interface for browsing YouTube channels has also been improved, along with performance improvements and bug fixes.

These changes are available for all those phones that have Windows Phone 8 or higher, so if that is our case, we just have to go to the store and download the latest version of Tubecast.
