A new application summary comes to Xataka Windows, and this time, we have a fairly varied selection, ranging from controlling our habits to watching videos on YouTube.
Tinkerplay, create character models for 3D printers
The people at Autodesk have launched an interesting application that allows all users who have a 3D printer to create character models and dolls and then bring them to life real.
It is more an application to play than to do something very professional, even It could even be said that it is very good for those children who are experimenting with 3D printing , and who need some simple tool to make their characters.
Tinkerplay offers us a space where we can create our characters from the pieces offered in the application. It is easy to use, since the character is divided into parts such as arms, legs, head, and more, and it is very intuitive to understand how to put all the elements.
Then we can apply colors and reliefs to these pieces to give them another finish. And, once our character is finished, we can see our creation and an IP address from where we can start the 3D printing.
Tinkerplay is free, and runs Windows Phone 8 operating system.1. The description of the application recommends that we start it in a terminal with a minimum of 1GB of RAM, but we don't know (because we don't have one) if it allows downloading the application in terminals with 512 MB of RAM.

Maestro, an attractive and flexible email application
Maestro is an interesting application that allows users to have another option to view emails from Windows Phone. It stands out for its simple design, but very flexible and functional for the normal tasks we have to do.
First of all, what we have to do is add our email accounts to the application so that it begins to bring the messages. We can link Outlook, Gmail, or Yahoo accounts.
Once integrated, the application will begin to bring new messages and will stack them on the screen. Clicking on them will open the full message so that we can see it. But if we swipe from left to right, an option will appear where we can reply to the message, add the contact and some other things. If we do the opposite (ie, from right to left), this will allow us to delete the message.
The application has a simple design and runs very smoothly. It is a good tool for those who want to have another, more unified option when viewing email.

Smoking Control, control the number of cigarettes you smoke per day
Smoking Control is an interesting application that allows you to control the number of cigarettes you are consuming per day, in order to control the habit and, hopefully, stop smoking .
The first thing we must do is enter the number of cigarettes that we allow ourselves to smoke per day. Once this is done, we must press on the main screen for it to start working.
Smoking Control will divide the day into times we can smoke a cigarette. The idea is to regulate the number of cigarettes smoked during the day using a timer. When it's time to smoke, the app sends us a notification letting us know, and then the clock resets to zero.
In any case, if the urge overcomes us, we can add another cigarette, but then we will have to wait longer to smoke the next one.
It is a good tool if we combine it with good habits to stop smoking. The idea is that little by little we reduce the number of cigarettes per day until it is zero.
Smoking Control is a free application, although it has . Unfortunately it cannot be deleted, since it does not have an internal micro-purchase to remove it.

Tubecast, a very solid YouTube video player
Tubecast can be, hands down, one of the best YouTube video players I've tried on Windows Phone. It has not only some interesting features, but also a very intuitive and useful design and interface for the user It shows that they have really been working hard on it.
Tubecast First of all, it has an attractive design and that is, within everything, easy to understand. Although at first we can press some options without wanting to, later we understand all the features it has.
We can search for videos among those recommended by the application, or log in with our account and see our playback history, uploaded videos, and more. When we enter a video, in addition to being able to see it, information, comments and details can be accessed by swiping to the sides.
An interesting detail that Tubecast has is that we can download the videos that we like to our terminal, or only download the audio if the video is a song. Although we can only see them from the application.
It has compatibility with DNLA, Smart TVs, Chromecast, and Apple TV, which I'm sure many will find interesting. Although this option only comes with 20 streams, then we must pay for the premium version to make it unlimited.

Fedora Reader, a minimalist newsreader
Fedora Reader is an interesting application for those who are looking for a simpler RSS reader with a minimalistic design. It works quite well and is easy to use.
The design is simple, with fine fonts and pastel colors. When we enter we must select from a list the sites that we want to add to the application, or, if we want, we can import an RSS list from our phone or OneDrive account.
Then Fedora Reader will start fetching all articles from each site. If we select some of them, the full note will open to view it, and if we stretch the green bar on the left, we can access sharing options, increase the font size, and more.
The rest of the app isn't much more than that. As we said at the beginning, it is minimalist and focuses on what it seeks to do; something that he undoubtedly does well.
