Table of contents:
The Xbox Music team has just released a new update for your little-loved Windows app Phone 8.1 This release reaches version 2.6.414.0, and among its improvements is solving 30 known problems that caused the application to close unexpectedly during various scenarios (for example, when changing filter while we had songs selected, or when playing music while the app was synchronizing).
Along with this, problems are resolved when displaying album covers and artist images, and also synchronization problems that caused that by interrupting a synchronization in progress, all future attempts to transfer songs will fail.Other issues that are fixed with this release include the following.
- When deleting songs, it used to happen that songs weren't always actually deleted from the collection.
- Unable to play albums under certain circumstances.
- "Inconsistent ordering of songs beginning with articles (for example A in English)"
- Unable to purchase songs individually from the Xbox Music store
But just as important as the update itself is the one that along with it the Xbox Music team announces that already working in new features that will be included in the version for Windows 10 (and therefore will benefit Xbox Music on PCs and tablets as well as on phones).
The downside of that, we're warned, is that the rate of updates to Xbox Music for Windows Phone 8 will slow down.1 This does not mean that the application will be abandoned, but simply that if before it received updates every 2 weeks, now this will happen every 1 month.
