The public beta of BlackBerry Messenger for Windows Phone is now available for download
Table of contents:
As we told you a few days ago, this week has been chosen by Microsoft and BlackBerry to fulfill their promises and launch the long-awaited BlackBerry Messenger client for Windows Phone .
BBM for Windows Phone supports chats with text messages and content attached such as voice memos, photos, location coordinates , etc. There's also support for group chats of up to 50 people, and the ability to add contacts directly from the app. We are also allowed to pin group or individual chats to the home screen.
As in other operating systems, BBM on Windows Phone informs us when messages have been received and read, with the letters D and R respectively. In addition, Microsoft users have the advantage that BlackBerry has adapted the interface of the application to harmonize with the appearance of Windows Phone. Finally, we also have the BBM Feeds function, which informs us about updates to our contacts' profiles.
Still, some features are missing, such as more integration with the lock screen to show more detailed notifications. To fill this and other gaps, the release of a version 2.0 of BBM for Windows Phone is expected in the coming months.
Let's remember that this application was already available for those who managed to register in the private Beta, what changes now is that the application can be downloaded by anyonefrom the Windows Phone store, without the need for prior registration or quota limits.
