Microsoft Research launches Xim
Table of contents:
At Microsoft Research they continue to work on applications that improve the way we create and share content from our smartphones. His latest proposal is Xim, a multiplatform application that allows you to share photos with groups of close friends quickly and synchronized. According to his own motto, the objective is to avoid having to share the mobile when we simply want to show a set of photos to our group of friends.
Xim's idea is to use everyone's phones as receivers for a presentation, which they also call 'xim'.A 'xim' is a kind of private group, formed by the selected contacts, through which the photos will be displayedThis presentation will also be interactive, allowing you to navigate between the images by moving your fingers, and it will remain synchronized, so that at all times the members of the group see what the others see.
Xim's operation tries to be as simple as possible. Just choose a place from which to import photos, either the gallery or one of the supported cloud services; select those that you want to share and add the contacts that will form the group. They will receive a 'xim' access message, which they will be able to reproduce even without having the application installed on their smartphone All of them will be able to see the photos and participate by controlling the presentation or by sharing your impressions using the integrated feedback system.
Those who have Xim installed on their terminals will also be able to add new photos or invite more contacts to the group. For this, it is also not necessary to have a specific mobile system. With Xim, Microsoft Research has embraced Redmond's cross-platform strategy from the start and has published applications for both Windows Phone, Android and iOS.
