New update for Messenger that reduces data consumption

Facebook has updated its popular Windows Phone messaging application, Messenger, to version 5.0 which includes various performance improvements and new features that will facilitate the daily use of the application.

For an application like this it is very important to be as efficient as possible, and for this you have to reduce data consumption as much as possible. With the new update, measures have been taken to prevent data from being consumed more times than necessary.

For this reason, Messenger will start caching images, such as stickers, to reduce data consumption generated during a conversation .This means that if, for example, we send a sticker for the first time, it will be downloaded through the data connection.

When used for the first time, a copy will be created in the cache so that we can access it if we need it. Thus, a second submission of the same sticker will access this copy instead of using the available connection.

Speaking of other news, we also found a big change in the image sharing mode With previous versions, if you wanted to take a photo and sending it you were forced to close the application, take the photo with the camera and return to Messenger to share it.

Now it is possible to do this directly, using the camera application that integrates the new version. In other words, you can now access the camera from a conversation without leaving it, take a picture and send it to your contact directly.

This integration is also carried out with the image library. When you want to share an image, you will see all the ones you have on your phone at the bottom of the screen, and you will only have to slide with your finger to go through until you find the one you are looking for.

Finally, Messenger adds the option to create groups to organize your contact list. They're fully customizable so you can group your friends, co-workers, or family together to make it easier for you to locate them.
