A notification center and a personal assistant

The week is starting with an important report for the new version of Windows Phone. Many times there was talk of the incorporation of two new features to the operating system, a personal assistant and a notification center, and now The Verge wants to confirm that there will be two new features included in the version 8.1 of the operating system

Microsoft internal sources have informed them that Windows Phone 8.1 --as the next version is now known-- would integrate the much acclaimed notification center as well as a personal assistant that to this day is known by the code name Cortana.

The notification center would be something similar to what we know in iOS and Android, it would be hidden at the top of the interface and will be shown by gesturing downwards , in addition there will also be a quick settings menu --to activate wireless connections, alarms, brightness, tone, etc.-- that will be will show when we do the same gesture but a little shorter.

On the other hand, the personal assistant Cortana would be a replacement for the current Bing search and would have a function similar to that of Siri and Google Now, responding to natural language and making reminders in real time.

Other novelties that are being seen in the first betas of Windows Phone 8.1 are a greater integration of social channels within the People Hub, some changes in the applications that would come installed as standard in the operating system, and finally, the independent volume control, both for tone and for some multimedia application.

As there is no official information on the matter, we cannot confirm that we will see all the news in Windows Phone 8.1, but knowing that Tom Warren has hit the nail on the head in many of the reports he has given about the world from Microsoft let's take information with due caution Still, in the BUILD 2014, which will be held next April, we will officially know the new version of Windows Phone.
