The volume of meetings and notes that can be taken during the execution of a project can be simply overwhelming. In fact, the figure of the person in charge and manager of the project, depending on its size and complexity, is mainly dedicated to collecting documentation to analyze it, report it and make decisions based on them.

Today I bring an application that makes life much easier for those who in their daily work need to capture information in the most complete, fast and reliable way possible: Office Lens.

Documenting with the mobile camera

Managing the development of software applications has always led me to take pictures of the team's Kanban boards, where the workflow is developed visually, or iteration planning in the one we are entering.

The handicap is that the light conditions and the rush to evacuate the room often leads me to obtain bright or shaky images. Now Office Lens has shown me that it can treat photos so that a readable document can be obtained, even correcting perspective to improve the vision of the information.

In addition to the whiteboard mode, which is the one seen in the images, it also has two more modes: photo and document. Which adjusts the quality of the shot and the subsequent treatment according to the selected specifications.

I can also not use the camera, and import the image from the device's photo library, set the default resolution or the flash usage mode.

Original capture and document in OneNote

Finally, as it couldn't be any other way, as it is a “Windows Lens” type application, I can share the images taken in any of the ways in which my Windows is configured Phone, in addition to obtaining a new document in my OneNote with the screenshots processed.
