Like any good self-respecting geek, the universe of Star Wars makes me especially curious when I discover some more of its multiple and countless products.
Today I bring a small turn-based card game based on the franchise for our Windows Phone 8 Smartphones: Star Wars Asssault Team.
Turn-based card game
The first thing that really caught my attention is that it is a game from the extinct Lucasarts, the emblematic producer of the most important titles from the universe of The Force; closed in an incomprehensible decision by Disney.
This means that the game must have an excellent graphic quality, which is noticeable as soon as it is started. Even though they are graphics with a slightly old “look & feel”, the drawing, the colors and the atmosphere are very good, up to expectations.
Special mention to the soundtrack, also another house brand, which is excellent. Based on the soundtrack of the films, it adapts to each situation, helping to keep the tension alive in the fights and supporting, with special sound effects, the actions that are taking place.
The game itself is quite simple. It is a turn-based card game, but at a very basic level We have characters with life and attack points, who level up through training or by missions, who can be taught to use different types of equipment, and who must navigate a mission tree.
An entertaining turn-based adventure, of great simplicity, which is good for spending idle time waiting in line, or on a trip. And more when it is free both in its download and in its game.
