Spain is one of the “first world” countries with the most spectacularly high unemployment rate in its entire environment and surroundings Arriving , by very little, to the 6 million people without jobs, and with an unbearable job insecurity in the form of temporary contracts with high turnover.

Therefore, anything that helps, facilitates or supports the active search for employment and overcoming the barrier between demand and supply of jobs is especially welcome.

So today I bring JobLens, an application for Nokia phones, manufactured by the company itself, which makes it easier for us to have knowledge of the job offers that are published around us. Literally.

Augmented reality of our Social Sphere

The fundamental idea behind the service is relatively simple, although technically it is considerably more complex.

Nokia has reached an agreement with the main temporary employment companies (the so-called ETT and meat companies to use), with the main portals for job offers such as infojobs or similar, and with professional social networks as Linkedin.

The user is asked to authorize their accounts on fashionable Social Networks such as facebok, linkedin, Twitter or everything that is accessed with the Live account, so that JobLens can collect information.

Next the system retrieves all the information from this huge set of job offers, geolocated, and integrates it with the network of social contacts that we all have configured in the Social Sphere.

And from then on it becomes a huge directory of job offers, accessible through written searches, by voice, by time, by geographic location, etc. In addition to indicating which contact from our social environment is related to the bidding company.

As if that were not enough, allows us to use augmented reality to, for example, go down the street and locate the companies that are offering around us, viewing job alerts superimposed on the camera image.

In summary, discovering offers that are ever closer to what may interest us is engaging and overwhelms the number of development professionals being requestedpermanently on the market.

What I don't know is how we don't charge more… ;)
