Twitter for Windows Phone receives its biggest update including a new interface
Table of contents:
We've all noticed that the folks at Twitter have neglected their official client for Windows Phone a lot, but today they surprise us with a huge update to the app that not only brings performance improvements but also have opted for a new interface.
Twitter for Windows Phone goes to version 2.0 with a significant improvement in its appearance, now taking elements already widely seen in clients to other operating systems and even in its web version it shows navigation through four main tabs: Home, Connect, Discover and Account.
The first tab that is where the application starts is called Home and shows nothing more than our timeline now with a white background and the option to refresh with the use of a simple gesture, the second tab called Connect shows all our interaction that we have with other users, including: mentions, RT's and favorites.
The third Discover offers a list of current trends, suggestions from followers and categories, and finally that of Account is nothing more than a quick access to our profile including our direct messages.
In each tab we will be seeing a bar at the bottom to write a new tweet or to search for tweets and people who follow us or that we follow. We also have the option to add multiple accounts, pin user profiles to the home screen and in Windows Phone 8 the possibility of using the application on the lock screen.
With this update, Twitter for Windows Phone is once again one of the most important clients of the platform, it works much faster than its previous version and offers an interface never seen in another client for the operating system, so now is the time to give it a try since best of all it is it is offered for free.
