BLINK, that kind of experiment with the camera of our Microsoft Research mobile phones, continues to increase its possibilities. This week it has received a new update, up to version 2.2, which incorporates improvements in the quality of the shots and innovations in the way of saving them or sharing them on different social networks.

This last point contains the main novelty. BLINK had already allowed for months to share the shots captured through animations through the Socl social network; but now it also includes the possibility of exporting these animations to SkyDrive in GIF format, which greatly facilitates their dissemination.

The new version also brings with it improvements in focus and stabilization of our captures The application automatically detects the focus based on the detection face and in the movement of the phone. In addition, stabilization has been perfected, which allows BLINK sequences to be kept free of vibrations and involuntary movements.

Along with all of the above, the Microsoft Research team behind BLINK has added metadata to screenshots taken with the app. From now on, images saved in the gallery will include the date and place they were taken in the EXIF properties of the image.

The new version of BLINK is now available for download in the Windows Phone Store. BLINK Cliplets are also available in the Windows Store, which allow us to later edit our captures from any Windows 8 computer.
