WhatsApp Messenger: many details remain to be polished
WhatsApp Messenger is the king of communication apps between mobile devices. Despite the fact that on other platforms it is a very elaborate application with few bugs, the reality of the application on Windows Phone is quite another. A few days ago, WhatsApp received the last update to version 2.8.8 To be able to update it, go to the Windows Phone application store, search for the application on its corresponding category and click update. With this new update, WhatsApp puts an end to its problems on its servers that caused the famous Error: status unavailable in the profile states of our contacts."
In general, the update improves the performance of the application, in fact at the beginning after updating, a message appears informing us of that the conversations are being optimized. Other details that are included with this new version are the following:
- It includes the sending of conversations via email, as well as the possibility of sharing the chat history of a contact or group also via mail.
- Possibility to zoom in images.
- New option to view shared images (either sent or received during a conversation).
Despite these improvements, the app is still a long way from its sister apps on Android and iOS.Some failures that we have been able to detect is the downloading of images in a conversation. If in a conversation we receive several images and we download the first one, then we have problems downloading the next one. The solution is to exit the application and re-enter.
Another improvement that is pending is the speed of the application. We have noticed an improvement compared to the previous version, but even so, there is still a way to classify it as a quick application.
I don't know if this has happened to anyone, but sometimes the notifications drive you a little crazy. When we receive a message from a friend, the phone notifies us with the corresponding notification, but the problem is that sometimes the notification appears again later, when the message has already been read.
