  • Word files with .doc, .docx, and .dot extensions
  • Excel files with extensions .xls, .xlsx, .xlsm, (macro-enabled Excel files) and .xlt
  • PowerPoint files with extensions .ppt, .pptx, .pps, and .pot

They also warn that in case of editing Word, Excel or PowerPoint documents prior to Office 2007, the files will be saved in a format most recent when using the edition of Office.

With the advent of support for editing in G Suite, replaces the use of QuickOffice (sometimes known as compatibility mode Office), which has more limited functionality and collaboration capabilities.
