Speedy Maxthon browser comes to Windows Phone 8

Speed, speed and speed

Without a doubt, this is the great advantage of this browser. It is very, very fast in rendering the web pages that I am visiting; and more so when many of them have specific "light" versions for web access via smartphone. Another comfort is that it searches from the navigation bar itself through Google. Which gives me the most accurate results for what I'm trying to locate or access.

The initial menu offers a Modern UI-like panel with an emulation of Live Tiles and in which I can make a small directory of the pages that I want to always have within reach of a click.

The tab system has been very comfortable for me, both in the creation and in the navigation through a tree of them.

Besides, being a Cloud-based system, I can keep my configuration synchronized between the different devices where I have Maxthon installed, by having your own profile.

Finally, among the advantages, it seems very appropriate to avoid unwanted exits from the browser by means of an alert that asks me to confirm that I really want to close the browser and not, like so many Sometimes it happens to me in IE on Windows Phone, I'm browsing backwards.

Small improvements, from a good product

Obviously a first version will always have drawbacks and improvements to be made. And in the case of the Maxthon, the first thing that the manufacturer must face is the ability to rotate the screen.

Especially in the pages that are not prepared for mobile browsing, it is essential to be able to obtain the web in landscape format, which is not yet supported.

Another drawback is that support for both Flash and Silverlight is not particularly good.For example, although YouTube or Vimeo can be seen perfectly, we will not be able to access the live broadcast of Televisión Española, TV3, Eurosport Player, or video library pages.

But overall it's an excellent browser, given its speed.
