What's new in Office: Word 2016 will offer real-time collaboration

Anonim

If we had BUILD 2015 last weekend, another important Microsoft event took place today, the Ignite Conference in Chicago. One of the central themes of this instance was the future of Office as a productivity solution for people and organizations.

In this context, there were several announcements related to Office 2016, and one of the most important was that Word 2016 will allow editing documents collaboratively in real time , just like you can do today on the web, but without leaving your desktop

In turn, they confirm that Outlook will have full integration with OneDrive, allowing you to directly attach links to files in the cloud, and even allowing to save there the attached files that we receive. This last feature is already available in the public preview of Office 2016, but real-time collaboration on the desktop will be released later, in a future update.

The other major conference announcement concerns Office Sway, Microsoft's application for creating dynamic presentations geared toward mobile and desktop Web. This service is about to leave the preview phase, starting its deployment this month for users of Office 365 from companies and educational establishments

"

This means that those who have Office 365 in your organization will be able to access Sway just by signing in with their associated account, even if it is not a Microsoft account. In addition, entering Sway in this way will offer us an ad-hoc experience for organizations, with special sources of content in the Embed tab, privacy options for default that make presentations visible only to members of the same organization, and control possibilities by system administrators."

Along with this, Sway will also add support for Spanish, along with other languages such as Portuguese, Japanese, and German. This improvement will be applied during the current quarter, that is, between now and the end of June.
