Microsoft introduces Office Sway

Anonim

At the beginning of August, Sway's name came to the fore after it was discovered that in Redmond they were registering web domains related to him. What was hidden behind him was something unknown. Until now, because Microsoft has decided to officially reveal that this name hides a new Office web application

Office Sway is the new tool in the Microsoft office suite. With it we can create attractive documents and presentations quickly and from any device. Sway aims to help us organize and express our ideas, allowing us to focus on what we want to tell without having to worry about each element of its design.

"

With Office Sway we can create presentations called Sways that are specially designed for today&39;s multi-device and cloud world. Each Sway can be stored in the cloud and shared through a link. When accessed, its appearance will adapt to the screen of the device on which it is viewed, whether large or small, so that the content is always displayed in an attractive way."

When we create our Sway we will start by selecting between the different templates available, all of them created with different types of content in mind. Once this is done, adding content will be an easy task thanks to the search field available on the left side. From it we can search for content from various sources, including our hard drive, OneDrive, Facebook, Twitter or YouTube; and drag it directly to our presentation.

As we add content, Office Sway will take care of formatting the document almost automaticallyTo do this, it relies on technology developed by Microsoft Research that allows it to analyze and organize content based on the algorithms and styles implemented by Redmond engineers. All this without preventing us from making our own changes.

Once finished, the presentation can be stored in the cloud and shared through a link or through social networks like Twitter or Facebook. It can also be embedded in any website, as you can see on these lines. Thanks to the “responsive web” style with which it is developed, it alone will take care of displaying itself in the appropriate format.

If all this sounds good to you, I'm sorry to tell you that you may still have to wait a bit to try it out. At the moment, Office Sway is only available in Preview version and requires an invitation to access. Anyone who wants to try their luck can request theirs on their official website.
