OneNote for iOS and Mac updated to match OneNote functionality on Windows
For a couple of days, Microsoft is releasing an update for OneNote on Apple platforms, OS X and iOS Among the new features is the possibility of inserting files in notes, such as PDFs, Word documents , PowerPoint presentations or video and audio files.
On Mac these files can be added with a simple drag and drop, and there's QuickLook support, so you can have an instant preview of the attached files. If we are using an iPad or an iPhone, we can insert attachments directly from the mail application, or other applications, such as PDF readers. In addition, PDFs can be added to notes in hard copy format, so you can take notes alongside the file's content.
Another useful new feature is support for password-protected sections In Windows we have always been able to add a password to prevent anyone from accessing a section of OneNote that contains sensitive information, but until now those protected sections couldn't be opened on Mac, iPad, or iPhone. With the new version of OneNote, that is no longer the case. In addition, the sections are locked again (they ask us for a password again) after being inactive for a while, as a security measure.
Adds support for notebooks stored in OneDrive for Business, Microsoft's online storage service for businesses. It is also now possible to change the order of sections and pages, and move them within the notebooks, in order to organize the notes as we wish. Additionally, copying and pasting of formatted content from web pages and applications is now supported.
Possibility to move notes between sections and change their order, one of the novelties of OneNote for Mac and iOS.Finally, in OneNote for Mac you can now share your notes via HTML-formatted email, which adds to the already available option to export them to PDF.
These updates aim to bring OneNote clients for Mac, iPad, and iPhone more on par with their Windows counterparts in terms of functionality, so that OneNote users have a complete experience no matter what. which operating system they use the most.
