Slack
For those of you who work in a group or simply want to use an application to communicate that goes beyond the messaging provided by WhatsApp or Telegram, surely you know Slack. A multiplatform app to organize work teams and tasks in a highly efficient way.
Until now, it was perhaps the first option many opted for in order to combine the work of all the members of a working group. Until now it had almost no competition and we say until now because this is no longer the case thanks to the arrival of Microsoft Teams, a solution that we met at the end of last year and that is already a reality
This is a solution available to Office 365 users with which the use of the cloud is enhanced when it comes to do our job. A utility that is available in a large number of markets (they have seen it arrive in 181 countries and 19 languages) thus seeking to eliminate barriers when using it between users with different languages.
To make using Microsoft Teams attractive from Redmond they have added almost all the possibilities offered by Slack but they have also included some improvements. Thus, if we use Teams from an Android terminal, we will have access to audio and video calls, a function that will later reach iOS and Windows Phone users.
In the presentation, Satya Nadella, CEO of Microsoft, stated:
To facilitate communication we can even use different formats or always receive notifications when we have a message. We can also send via email all the conversation that has been generated in a channel. We even have at our disposal a collaborative calendar where we can manage all the tasks of the members of a team.
It doesn't matter if you're in Madrid, Chicago or Berlin, you can access Teams in the same way.
Microsoft Teams offers a plus and how could it be otherwise, it integrates with all the applications that make up Office 365 In this way, and in a similar way to Google Docs and Drive, we can work with Word, Excel, PowerPoint, OneNote, SharePoint and Power BI documents without leaving Teams.
In addition, Microsoft new tools have been launched to make Microsoft Teams more accessible, and thus we found solutions such as support for screen readers , high contrast, and keyboard-only navigation. And with a greater degree of adaptation to each need since Microsoft Teams offers the possibility of customizing workspaces with tabs, connectors and third-party bots, as well as Microsoft tools such as Microsoft Planner and Visual Studio.
On the other hand care has been taken of a factor such as security thanks to the use of standards that protect communications on channels, chats and files that are shared. In this sense, Teams offers the most advanced security and functionality for compliance with the regulations that users expect. Teams supports global standards including SOC 1, SOC 2, EU Model Clauses, ISO27001 and HPAA.
