The most experienced of the place may remember a little game that was hidden among the files on the Windows 95 CD: Hover! The game it was a demonstration of the multimedia capabilities that the operating system provided to computers of the time. Almost 20 years later it returns to our screens, but this time through the browser.

The Internet Explorer team collaborated with indie developer Dan Church, a longtime Hover aficionado, and studio Pixel Labs to bring the game back for the web in all its gloryThanks to them, the most nostalgic will now be able to recall old games and those who were unaware of it will be able to take a look at another bit of Windows history.

Taking advantage of the capabilities of Internet Explorer 11 and its support for modern web standards such as WebGL, the team behind the Microsoft browser has ported the game into a more web applicationIt also does it with a revamped 3D graphic aspect that can be enjoyed not only in Internet Explorer 11 but in any modern browser.

Hover is a combination of bumper cars and capture the flag. In it we have to control a kind of hovercraft and go conquering the different flags distributed around the map before our rival captures ours. The game includes single and multiplayer modes, allowing you to compete online with up to 8 friends.

As with the original version of the game, we can control our hovercraft in the usual way with the keyboard. But now we can also enjoy it in full screen on our tablets thanks to the new touch controls implemented All without leaving the browser, as if a native application was treat.

Hover is one of the demos that the people behind Internet Explorer have been publishing in recent months. All of them are aimed at demonstrating the advantages of complying with the new web standards and the improvements incorporated in the latest versions of the browser.
