The Surface Duo has no external display

The Surface Duo happens to be one of Microsoft's most interesting devices for the immediate future It was not in vain, together with the Surface Neo, the main focus of attention when the models that would see the light of day in the coming months were announced at the October event.

A dual-screen device, which does not have a flexible screen, as brands such as Samsung, Huawei and Motorola have offered. In addition, and unlike these, the Surface Duo does not have a third external screen, something that could be a handicap for day-to-day use that would require opening the phone to see any type of notice. And we speak conditionally, since Microsoft might be working on a solution to address that problem

An ingenious solution

If we have a Surface Duo and we receive, for example, a message, or a call, theory dictates that we would have to open the device to see the screenOpen it fully. And that's a cumbersome process, so Microsoft has pulled software to make the process better.

In this sense, WalkingCat has shared a video on Twitter in which you can appreciate the solution that Microsoft could offer. Notifications on the Surface Duo? Just slightly open the screen to get information at a glance about missed calls and notifications.

These appear on the right side of the screen, the first one that comes into view when we slightly open the Surface Duo. And once in sight, we can slide our finger over them to dismiss them but also to accept or reject a call.

We don't know if this feature will finally be a reality, since Microsoft has not confirmed this feature and they are still working on the final software with which the Surface Duo should arrive on the market. To improve and optimize the release, remember that they already have an emulator ready so that developers can adapt their Android applications for the Surface Duo.

To get to know and test the Surface Duo, we will still have to wait for Christmas 2020, but some models are already beginning to be seen on the street as prototypes in the testing phase.
