All smartphones today, like my personal device a Lumia 920, are true technological marvels that offer performance and capabilities at the level of the famous Star Trek tricorders.
But this still has the unavoidable price of having a fairly high energy consumption – and even more so when we make full use of the connection capacities with the virtual society – which implies always keeping an eye on maintaining battery charged.
For and for this work Today I want to bring you the applications Battery, which I think are the best battery management programs for Windows Phone 8 ; and that they are practically the same.
Information about present and future status
On the right the version of Enless, on the left that of ArthurThe first thing to highlight is the strange surprise I got when, to write the article, I found that there are two applications with the same name and practically the same content in the Store. One from Arthur Semenov and one from Enless Soft Ltd.
The changes are minimal between the two apps, some more important than the other, but both are free (the second with ads). So I'll discuss the two interchangeably, noting only when a feature is implemented in only one of them.
There are two main and most useful advantages of both applications: Advanced live tile: where the percentage of charge of the battery, the estimated time before running out and when this data was last updated. In the Endless Soft version, it allows you to view the load and consumption ratio, and the background color varies with the load percentage.Direct access to the configuration of the communication devices Thus, with two clicks, I access to manage the Wifi, the BlueToth, the GPS, the mobile network and the plane status. Once again Enless improves a little on Arthur's version, accessing the full system configuration screen in Wifi and Blueooth.
The configuration of the applications are quite complete, winning in possibilities Arthur's, which is the only one that allows you to put an icon on the lock screen with the remaining percentage of the battery.
Among them I would highlight the notifications – such as notifying me if I have an exceptional consumption – and that both share mostly. Thus I will have control over the main events in the consumption of my mobile, being able to disable it at night and store a few more milliwatts.
Where Arthur beats Enless is in usage statistics. The main screen of the Semenov application is a graph of the consumption over time of our phone, which is not that it has much use other than to control the state of the battery, but it is more striking.
It also allows us to access a page where I have the total statistics of the upload and download operations of my device.
Conclusions
Configuration in Enless vs configuration in ArthurThe first conclusion is that someone has copied someone. The solutions may be similar, but the equalities between the two applications are strangely abundant.
In my personal opinion, I think I'm going to use Arthur's version for two reasons: It's finished – Enless's has parts " in construction "; and the statistics are a pure “geek” that I love.
The only thing that the application that I have chosen would lack, and that if it offers the Enless one, is that it shows me the estimate of both the upload and download ratio, and not only the estimated percentage of charge and remaining usage time.
But, to try to be as fair as possible, I'm linking the two apps so that you can make the final decision on which one you like the most like.
