One of the tools I use on a day-to-day basis in the office is the remote access application TeamViewer, widespread in the sector comprehensive computer services professional; both in development and in systems.

This program covers the connection needs to a computer, which does not cover the services included in Windows 8 itself - both on the desktop and in Modern UI -, combining great ease of use.

Accessing from my Windows Phone 8

Now, its manufacturer has released version 8.1 for Windows Phone 8 smartphones Which is especially useful for, like the one who writes these lines , supports both the company's internal systems and manages work on external client platforms.

Maintaining the simplicity of use of the desktop version, I have only three screens:The configuration screen Where I can indicate the quality default connection, make comments or ask technical support, and access the instructions for using the mobile's touch interface.Connection number Entering the ID and password, I access the remote system.Computers A small address book where I can store a list of the computers I usually connect to, and the authentication data.

Once I am identified, I enter the remote computer, in the session that is open at that moment. Being able to perform most of the operations that are supported by the use of the mouse.

In addition, in the session viewer, I have some shortcuts to the following actions:Close the TeamViewer session.Send a Ctrl + Alt + DelRemove / hide the virtual keyboard of the phoneChange monitor. In my case it is very interesting because my work team is multi-monitor (2).

Conclusions

This is a good application, which includes everything I need.

I would point out as positive the ease of use, its good functioning via Wi-Fi, and that the session is bidirectional; that is, as I act on the computer that hosts the session, I see what happens on my mobile.

If I were to find any drawbacks or improvements, I would point out that the session is not kept alive when the computer crashes but, instead, remembers the identification data of the last entry; saving me from having to repeat them.

Finally, note that it requires at least version 8 of the client software, and that it should be useful only for extreme or emergency situations. Tech demo, because even on the screen of the Lumia 920, everything looks tiny.
